SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University Vice President for Athletics Chauncey Winbush announced today that Nycole (Nyc) Duncan has been named head athletic trainer at Shepherd. Duncan has been an assistant athletic trainer at Shepherd since 2016.
"We are excited for Nyc to take on this new leadership position within our department," said Winbush. "Nyc has shown over the last five years that she is committed, organized, and prepared for this opportunity."
Prior to working at Shepherd, Duncan worked as a trainer at Washington High School, St. James School, East Hardy High School, Shepherd, and Winchester Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine.
Duncan is a 2002 graduate of Shenandoah University with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. She holds certifications as a Certified Athletic Trainer, Licensed Athletic Trainer, ImPACT Trained Athletic, and First Aid/CPR Certified. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the West Virginia Athletic Trainers Association.
