SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Shepherd University tennis teams won a pair of matches over Mary Baldwin at Shepherd on Saturday. The Shepherd men (1-0) posted a 6-1 win and the women (1-0) also recorded a 6-1 victory.
Senior Austin Cramer (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin), senior Ryan Cox (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman), sophomore Joseph Michael (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington), sophomore Hamilton Hall (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown), and freshman Russell McClanahan (Charleston, W.Va./Nitro) all earned singles wins.
Cramer and Cox teamed for a 6-4 win at number one doubles, while Michael and Hall posted a 6-0 win at number two doubles.
Junior Morgan Burner (Winchester, Va./James Wood), senior Claire Dean (Church Hill, Md./Queen Anne's County), junior Ally Frushour (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown), sophomore Quinn Madden (Cumberland, Md./Allegany), and sophomore Johnna Smith (Buckhannon, W.Va./Buckhannon-Upshur) recorded singles wins for the women.
Junior Isabella Mascari (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) teamed with Frushour for a 6-4 win at number one doubles and Burner and Smith combined on a 6-2 triumph at number two doubles
The Rams return to action on Oct. 2 when they compete at the Bloomsburg Duals.
