LOCK HAVEN, Pa.  -- Junior outside hitter Kiara Rakestraw (Uhrichsville, Ohio/Indian Valley) and redshirt-freshman defensive specialist/libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) of the Shepherd University volleyball team earned PSAC weekly honors as announced by the league office today. Rakestraw gained PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors, while Ellis notched PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week accolades.

Rakestraw recorded 43 kills, 31 digs, and six blocks to lead the Rams to a 4-0 week. She had 18 kills and 15 digs in a five-set win over Mercyhurst.

Ellis posted 84 digs in a 4-0 week for the Rams. She had a 30-dig effort in a five-set win over Mercyhurst.
