Box Score 2 INDIANA, Pa. – Shepherd University (1-1) split a pair of matches to open the season at the Indiana (Pa.) Tournament on Friday. The Rams posted a 3-0 (29-27, 25-15, 25-5) win over Frostburg State in the early match and dropped a 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23) decision to Tusculum in the later match.

Sophomore outside hitter Mikaylah Hoy (Sharpsburg, Md./Heritage Academy) had nine kills and 13 digs against Tusculum. Senior middle hitter Georgia Ohmke (Falls Church, Va./Justice) had eight kills and eight blocks, while junior outside hitter Kitanna Rakestraw (Uhrichsville, Ohio/Indian Valley) recorded eight kills and four blocks
Sophomore setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) contributed 27 assists and eight digs, while redshirt-freshman defensive specialist/libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded 13 digs.
Raeley Matthews had 14 kills and Emiah Burrowes added 12 to lead the Pioneers.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they face Ohio Dominican at 4:30 p.m. and host IUP at 7 p.m. in final day action of the IUP Tournament.
