FROSTBURG, Md. – Sophomore forward Andrew West (Annandale, Va./Carlisle {Pa.}) scored at the 75:05 mark on an assist from graduate student defender Brandon Hurt (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) to help Shepherd University (1-6-4) gain a 1-1 tie with Frostburg State (2-5-4) in men's soccer action at Frostburg State on Saturday.
Frostburg State took a 1-0 lead when Zach Harpel scored on a feed from Abdur-Rhaman Neama at the 59:38 mark.
Senior netminder Billy Wood (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) recorded six saves for the Rams. Brennan Moore (45:00, 1 GA, 3 saves) and Parker Shugars (45:00, 0 GA, 0 saves) combined to post three saves for the Bobcats.
Frostburg State had a 25-6 edge in shots with a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Bobcats had a 17-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Mercyhurst for a 1 p.m. match.
