Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) was named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Year, senior outside hitter
Mikaylah Hoy (Sharpsburg, Md./Heritage Academy) was named PSAC East Athlete of the Year, and head coach
Alex Hoekstra was selected as PSAC East Coach of the Year.
Ellis, a two-time PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week choice this season, paces the Rams in digs (362) and digs per game (4.02). The first team All-Conference choice adds a team-best 52 service aces, 85 assists, and three kills. Her 0.58 service ace average is second in the PSAC.
Hoy, a repeat first team All-Conference choice, paces the Rams in kills (286), kills per game (3.29), and ranks second in digs (226). She is fourth on the team in assists (21) and aces (21).
Hoekstra has led the Rams to a 21-6 overall mark with a 12-2 record in conference play as the PSAC Eastern Division champions. Shepherd is currently on a 13-match winning streak.
Sophomore middle hitter
Renee Killough (Bloomery, W.Va./Hampshire), a second team selection, topped the team in blocks (112), block solos (16), and block assists (96). She added 129 kills, 44 digs, 21 aces, and 10 assists. Killough, who ranks fourth nationally in blocks per set (1.32), helps Shepherd lead NCAA II in blocks per set with a 2.65 average.
