SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Three members of the Shepherd University men's soccer team and six members of the women's soccer team have been named to the 2022 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
Junior defender/midfielder Conner Brown (Martinsburg, W.Va./St. Maria Goretti/Averett), senior defender Brandon Hurt (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield), and senior goalkeeper Billy Wood (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) represented the men's team.
Brown boasts a 3.94 grade point average as a biology major. Brown appeared in 16 games with 15 starts. He recorded four shots with one on goal.
Hurt boasts a 3.71 grade point average as a health promotion and exercise science major. Hurt appeared and started in 17 games. He recorded one assist for one point on the season.
Wood carries as 3.96 grade point average as a business major. Wood appeared in 16 games with 15 starts. He recorded a team-best 48 saves with a .724 save percentage. He posted a 2.08 goals against average and had three shutouts on the year.
Sophomore midfielder Delaney Bittner (York, Pa./Red Lion Area Senior), senior forward/midfielder Sara Hohn (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson), junior midfielder/forward Paris Kimbrell (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville), senior defender Madison Michael (Myersville, Md./Middletown), senior defender Alyssa Nazarok (Northfield, N.J./Mainland), and sophomore midfielder Myra Striebig (York, Pa./Dallastown Area) were honored from the women's team.
Bittner boasts a 4.0 grade point average as a health promotion and exercise science major. She appeared and started in all 18 games. She recorded six goals and two assists for 14 points.
Hohn boasts a 4.0 grade point average as a business major. She topped the team in goals (7), assists (5), and points (19). Hohn had four game-winning goals on the season and scored the game-tying goal in a pair of ties for the Rams.
Kimbrell has a 3.78 grade point average as a business major. She appeared in 18 games with six starts. She took seven shots with three on goal.
Michael boasts a 3.58 grade point average as a business major. She appeared in 15 games.
Nazarok has 4.0 grade point average as a political science and global studies major as an undergraduate and is pursuing a master's degree in Appalachian Studies. She appeared in 17 games with 16 starts. She recorded a pair of assists for two points this year.
Striebig boasts a 3.55 grade point average as an education major. She appeared in 18 games with 14 starts. She had one assist for one point.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
