MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Shepherd University men's cross country team finished 16th in a 16-team field with a score of 484, while the women finished 18th in an 18-team field with a 590 at the PSAC Championship races at Mansfield on Saturday. Edinboro won the men's race with a score of 33 and the women's race with a score of 81. Ward Ries of Edinboro gained individual honors in the men's race and Kylie Anicic of Edinboro took the women's individual honors.
The men were led by sophomore Noah Cupp (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville), who finished 101st with a time of 28:55.2. He was followed by freshman Parker Mackey (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) (114th, 29:33.9.), freshman Nick Szabo (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) (121st, 19:57.6), sophomore Jonathan Weller (Martinsburg, W.Va./Spring Mills) (134th, 31:26.3), freshman Aiden Sensabaugh (Keyser, W.Va./Frankfort) (137th, 31:53.2), freshman Nick Yankle (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) (138th,32:01.9), and sophomore James Burdock (Stephenson, Va./James Wood) (144th, 32:57.5).
The women were led by freshman Margarita Salvador (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) who finished 117th with a time of30:07.8. She was followed by senior Mahayana Garcia (Shepherdstown, W.Va./Jefferson) (117th, 32:13.9), sophomore Janette Salvador (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) (118th, 33:24.4), junior Kayla Austin (Herndon, Va./Westfield) (119th, 37:25.4), and senior Anna Berwanger (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) (120th, 36:19.6).
The Rams return to action on Nov. 19 for Atlantic Regional action at Mansfield.
