12/1/2022 2:00:00 PM

FINDLAY, Ohio – Five members of the Shepherd University football team have been named to the 2022 D2CCA All-Super Region One Team. Additionally, senior quarterback Tyson Bagent (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) was named Regional Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Bagent, the PSAC East Offensive Player of the Year and 2021 Harlon Hill winner, has put together yet another incredible regular season, completing 71 percent of his passes for 4,184 yards, both of which led the nation. His 37 passing touchdowns rank fourth in the country while his 27.9 completions per game rank second and his 330.8 yards of total offense per game rank fifth. Bagent is one of the top QBs in the division's history, holding the NCAA DII record for most career passing yards (16,638), total offense (16,865), and passing touchdowns (155). For the second consecutive season, Bagent has his team in the national quarterfinals.

Joining Bagent as first team selections were junior running back Ronnie Brown (Baltimore, Md./Dundalk), senior offensive lineman Joey Fisher (Hagerstown, Md./Clear Spring), senior tight end Brian Walker (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg), and senior defensive end Kyle Smith (Sterling, Va./Dominion).

Brown was a first team choice as a running back. He has rushed 175 times for 1,553 yards and 16 touchdowns. He adds 50 receptions for 530 yards and four scores.

Brown also adds 16 kickoff returns for 448 yards and a touchdown.

Fisher, a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award, anchors an offensive line that helps Shepherd rank second in total offense (508.5), second in first downs offense (272), third in passing offense (334.1), and fifth in scoring offense (43.1).

Walker has 56 grabs for 730 yards and four touchdowns this season.

Smith has 50 tackles (30 solos) with a team-best 19.0 tackles-for-loss (-107 yards) and a team-best 13.0 sacks (-97 yards). He also has an interception return for a touchdown, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a blocked kick.
