SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Senior forward Kyle Daggett (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) scored 25 points, sophomore guard Phillip Jordan (Rockville, Md./St. Albans) added 22, while senior guard Cam Stephens (Bunker Hill, W.Va./Musselman) tossed in 20 to lead Shepherd University (11-13, 7-11 PSAC) to an 89-71 win over Millersville (21-5, 15-5 PSAC) in PSAC men's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Wednesday night.
Daggett also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and Stephens handed out a game-high five assists.
Junior guard Jon Preston (Brandywine, Md./Rock Creek Christian) added eight points and seven boards.
Shepherd had a 45-27 lead at the half.
Ryan Davis scored 18 points to pace the Marauders. James Sullivan added 14 points.
Shepherd took a double-digit lead midway through the first half and maintained it the remainder of the game.
Shepherd connected on 61.1 percent (33-54) from the floor with a 55 percent (11-20) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 85.7 percent (12-14) of their free throws.
Millersville shot 45.5 percent (25-55) from the floor with a 30.8 percent effort (8-26) from three-point range. The Marauders shot 76.5 percent (13-17) from the foul line.
Shepherd had a 39-25 advantage on the boards. The Rams forced 12 turnovers and committed nine. Shepherd had a 3-2 edge in steals.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 3 p.m. contest.
