SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Graduate student forward Kyle Daggett (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) of the Shepherd University men's basketball team and graduate student guard Marley McLaughlin (Haymarket, Va./Battlefield) of the Shepherd women's basketball team have been named to the 2021-22 Academic All-District® teams. 

Daggett (3.85/3.85 Biology (UG) / MBA (G), a two-time honoree, leads the Rams in scoring (17.0 ppg), rebounds (8.0 rpg), and blocked shots (16). He was named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week for Jan. 24.He tops the team with six double-doubles. He has scored 20 points or more on eight occasions this season. Daggett is also one of the team's top three-pointer shooters with a .411 (30-73) three-point field goal percentage. 

McLaughlin (3.55/4.00 Sociology (UG) / MBA (G) is second on the team in scoring (17.1 ppg) and three-pointers (52). She ranks third in rebounding (4.1 rpg), assists (1.1 apg), and steals (1.2 spg).McLaughlin has scored 20 points or more on 10 occasions this season. She currently ranks ninth on the Shepherd all-time scoring list with 1,275 points and ranks fifth all-time in three-pointers with 141 treys. 

The Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. 

First‐team Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second‐ and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced in mid‐March.
