D2CCA Release
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Junior guard Abby Beeman (Ridgeley, W.Va./Frankfort) of the Shepherd University women's basketball team has been named to the D2CCA All-America Team. The NCAA Division II sports information directors from institutions and conference offices voted for the teams. Beeman is the first Shepherd women's basketball player to gain All-American honors.
Beeman, a third team selection, led the Rams in scoring (19.0 ppg), assists (8.1 apg), and steals (2.9 spg). She topped the team in three-pointers (74) and minutes played (1254). She leads NCAA II in assists (267) and assists per game. Her 19.0 scoring average topped the PSAC. Beeman also ranks fourth nationally in steals (95). She was a four-time PSAC East Athlete of the Week honoree this season. Beeman scored 20 points or more in 16 games and has handed out eight assists or more in 20 games.
