FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Shepherd University Cheerleaders took home the first place trophy after completing at CCA Nationals in Fayetteville, NC on March 5.
 
The Rams scored first place in the advanced Small Coed division and took home the Collegiate Grand Champion title as well. 
 
After a one point safety deduction and a .75 fall, the team earned a 92.25 for their first performance. The Rams earned an impressive 95.20 with zero deductions for their second performance after bringing up every single technique category and overall score.  
 
"Similar to the experience of most teams over these last two years, this season was extremely challenging. There were a lot of obstacles that we had no control over; all we could do was trust each other. We made more changes to our routine than we ever have, but the team stepped up to the plate and didn't let anything get in the way of what they were after."  Head coach Lindsey Bordovsky
