SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Shepherd University women's tennis team (6-6, 2-1 PSAC East) edged Shippensburg (2-10, 1-3 PSAC East), 4-3, in PSAC East women's tennis action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon. 

Shepherd got singles wins from junior Ally Frushour (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown), junior Morgan Burner (Winchester, Va./James Wood), sophomore Johnna Smith (Buckhannon, W.Va./Buckhannon-Upshur), and sophomore Quinn Madden (Cumberland, Md./Allegany). 

Burner posted a 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 win at number three singles in a three-set thriller in the final match of the day to lift the Rams to victory. 

The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Kutztown for a 2 p.m. match.
