SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University head football coach Ernie McCook announced today that Tyler Haines has been named the team's offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. Haines replaces Jesse Correll, who resigned to pursue other interests.
Haines comes to Shepherd after spending the past two seasons as at Baldwin-Wallace. He served as defensive coordinator, inside linebackers coach, and co-special teams coordinator for the Yellow Jackets.
Haines had a five-year stint as the head coach at Urbana University before the campus closed in 2020. He was the second winningest coach in the program's 35-year history.
Haines also had coaching stints at Indiana (Pa.) and Adrian College. He was the offensive coordinator at IUP from 2013-15 where he helped lead the team to a 9-2 mark in 2013. He served as the offensive coordinator and linebackers and special teams coach at Adrian from 2008-13.
He graduated from Defiance College in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in integrated social studies and secondary education. He was a three-year letterwinner and two-time first team All-Heartland Conference selection at linebacker.
