LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Shepherd University men's cross country team finished 33rd in a 34-team field with a score of 216 at the Lock Haven Invitational, while the women had four participants at the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday. Cornell won the 8K men's race and Wayne State (Mich.) won the women's 6K race.
The men were led by freshman Parker Mackey (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman) who finished 219th with a time of28:54.00. He was followed by sophomore James Burdock (Stephenson, Va./James Wood) (238th, 29:31.50), senior Stephen Rivera (Kearneysville, W.Va./Home Schooled) (252nd, 30:24:10), freshman Nick Yankle (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) (356th,30:34.10), freshman Aiden Sensabaugh (Keyser, W.Va./Frankfort) (259th, 30:37.50), and freshman Nick Szabo (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) (261st, 30:47.50).
The women were led by freshman Margarita Salvador (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) who finished 84th with a time of 27:53.10. She was followed by senior Mahayana Garcia (Shepherdstown, W.Va./Jefferson) (109th, 30:08.00), junior Kayla Austin (Herndon, Va./Westfield) (115th,35:45.70), and senior Anna Berwanger (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) (116th, 35:56.60).
The Rams return to action on Oct. 15 when they travel to the Inter-Regional Border Battle in Logan Township, N.J.
