SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Casey Remolde scored 13 points and Leila Hurley added 10 to lead Kutztown (10-10, 8-6 PSAC) to a 63-30 win over Shepherd University (0-19, 0-14 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Center on Saturday
Sophomore guard/forward Sydney Bolles (Elkview, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) led the Rams with nine points and six rebounds. She connected on 4-of-15 field goals and was 1-of-1 from beyond the arc.
Freshman guard Peyton Grant (Plymouth, Maine/Dexter Regional) added six points, while junior guard Kendal Haggerty (Frederick, Md./Urbana/CCBC) had five. Sophomore guard Aubrey Austin (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale/Lenoir-Rhyne) added four points and five boards.
Abbey Hearn added nine points and four boards for the Golden Bears.
Kutztown had a 39-7 advantage at halftime.
Shepherd shot 22 percent (11-50) from the floor with a 26.7 percent (4-15) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit on 66.7 percent (4-6) of their free throws.
Kutztown shot 39.2 percent (20-51) from the floor with a 38.5 percent (10-26) effort from three-point range. The Golden Bears shot 86.7 percent (13-15) from the foul line.
Kutztown had a 38-34 edge in rebounding. The Rams forced 18 turnovers and committed 25.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Millersville for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
