FROSTBURG, Md. – Shepherd University dropped a pair of matches to Frostburg State in tennis action at Frostburg State on Thursday. The men (0-3) dropped a 6-1 decision while the women (0-1) came up short on a 7-0 outcome.
Senior Nicholas Espinoza (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio Aleman Humboldt/Iowa Central Community College) recorded a 6-2, 7-5 win at number three singles for the men.
Sophomore Ximena Bolanos Tellez (Mineral de la Reforma, Mexico Colegio Makarenko) and senior Marketa Beladova (Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic/Iowa Central Community College) teamed up for a 7-5 win at number one doubles for the women.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Salem at 2 p.m.
