EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University (14-15) dropped a five-set match with East Stroudsburg (22-6) in quarterfinal action of the PSAC Women's Volleyball Championship action at East Stroudsburg on Tuesday evening. The Warriors recorded a 25-18, 25-13, 19-25, 22-25, 15-7 win.
Junior middle blocker/right side Joi Fairweather (Tamarac, Fla./Calvary Christian Academy) led the Rams with 15 kills. Freshman outside hitter Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) added 13, while junior middle hitter Renee Killough (Bloomery, W.Va./Hampshire) had 11 kills and five block solos.
Senior setter Victoria Nicholes (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) recorded 35 assists and 15 digs. Senior libero Claire Ellis (Louisa, Va./Saint Catherine's School) recorded a season-high 33 digs, nine assists, and two aces. Freshman outside hitter Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown) added eight kills and 12 digs.
Kaylee LoPresto posted 22 kills to lead the Warriors. Anna Coulter added 14, while Sidney Stone and Claire Choloux each had 11
East Stroudsburg advances to face Shippensburg on Friday in the semifinal round.
