EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Lakeem McAliley scored a game-high 16 points to lead East Stroudsburg (20-7, 14-7 PSAC) to a 74-58 win over Shepherd (13-13, 10-10 PSAC) in PSAC men's basketball action at East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
Junior guard Daniel McClain-Corley (Clinton, Md./Massanutten Military Academy) led the Rams with 14 points and eight rebounds. He connected on 5-of-7 field goals with a 2-of-3 effort from three-point range. He was 2-of-2 from the foul line.
Sophomore guard Carson Poffenberger (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) added 13 points, while junior guard Phillip Jordan (Rockville, Md./St. Albans) had a game-high six assists. Freshman forward Stefan Marcelle (Washington, D.C./Georgetown Prep) added seven points and eight boards.
Jaelen McGlone added 12 points and five assists for the Warriors. Carlos Pepin had 11 points and six rebounds.
East Stroudsburg had a 42-26 lead at halftime.
Shepherd connected on 46 percent (23-50) of its field goals with a 33.3 percent (7-21) performance from three-point range. The Rams drained 62.5 percent (5-8) of their free throws.
East Stroudsburg shot 46.4 percent (26-56) from the floor with a 34.8 percent (8-23) effort from beyond the arc. The Warriors hit on 70 percent (14-20) of their free throws.
Shepherd had a 34-26 rebounding advantage. The Rams forced nine turnovers and committed 25.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Shippensburg for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
