KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Casey Remolde scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Kutztown (14-14, 12-10 PSAC) to a 70-50 win over Shepherd University (1-26, 1-21 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Kutztown on Saturday.
Sophomore guard Jordan Carr (Charles Town, W.Va./Jefferson) led the Rams with a career-high 11 points. She connected on 2-of-8 field goals with a 7-of-11 effort from the foul line.
Freshman guard Peyton Grant (Plymouth, Maine/Dexter Regional) added 10 points and sophomore guard Meghan Shipley (Middletown, Md./Middletown) tossed in eight. Sophomore forward Neresha Miller (Landover, Md./DuVal/Alderson Broaddus) added four points, 10 rebounds, and three steals.
Abbey Hearn had 13 points, while Annie Whalen and Naia Pulliam each had 12 for the Golden Bears. Shannon Remolde added a game-high seven steals.
Kutztown had a 33-22 lead at the break as Whalen had nine first-half points.
Shepherd shot 27.8 percent (15-54) from the floor with a 33.3 percent (6-18) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit on 60.9 percent (14-23) of their free throws.
Kutztown shot 42.8 percent (26-68) from the floor with a 22.6 percent (7-31) effort from three-point range. The Golden Bears shot 84.6 percent (11-13) from the foul line.
Kutztown had a 46-40 advantage in rebounding. The Rams forced 15 turnovers and committed 21.
