FLEETWOOD, Pa. – The Shepherd University women's golf team shot a 371 to rank fifth in a six-team field at the Kutztown Spring Invitational at the Moselem Springs Golf Course on Sunday. Millersville shot a 343 to take the team title. Cecelia Knecht of Kutztown and freshman Sara Veara (Berkeley Springs, W.Va./Berkeley Springs) of Shepherd tied for the low individual round at 80. Knecht earned medalist honors on the first playoff hole, No. 1, bogey (5) to double bogey (6).
Veara was followed by junior Amanda Deener (Middletown, Md./Frederick Christian Academy Homeschool Umbrella Program) (88, T-8th), sophomore Olivia Rosick (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove) (89, 10th), and junior Ciara Scafide (Knoxville, Md./Brunswick) (114, T-27th).
The Rams return to action on April 28 when they travel to Kutztown for the PSAC Championship.
