INDIANA, Pa. – The Shepherd University men's golf team fired a first-round total of 314 to rank 12th in a 16-team field at the Cecil Spadafora IUP Invitational at the Indiana Country Club on Monday. Host IUP has the first-round lead with a 293.
The Rams were led by seniors Chris Neighbors (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) and Mason Kidwell (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington), who each fired a 77 to tie for 25th place. They were followed by freshman Trey Rios (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) (79, T-46th), freshman Morgan Dehoff (Rohrersville, Md./Boonsboro) (81, T-63rd), and freshman Joey Leisinger (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown) ) (89, 94th). Freshman Nop Satijavitisarn (Yannawa Bangkok, Thailand/International Community School) carded a 79 to tie for 46th as he competed as an individual.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday for final-round competition.
