SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Ashlyn Simonetti scored six goals and Liv Genovese added four to lead Millersville (9-7, 6-5 PSAC East) to an 18-12 win over Shepherd University (5-12, 1-11 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's lacrosse action at Ram Stadium in the season finale for the Rams on Wednesday. Senior goalkeeper Hailey Bennett (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) had 17 saves to give her 184 for the season to break her Shepherd single-season mark of 174 set in the 2019 season. Bennett (705), the program's all-time save leader, went over 700 saves for her career.
Junior midfielder Kaiya Edwards (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion) led the Rams with four goals. Junior midfielder Paige Stoner (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) added two goals and four assists, while freshman attacker Holly Poe (Sykesville, Md./Century) and junior attacker Shanna Dextradeur (Middletown, Md./Middletown) each tallied a pair of goals.
Freshman attacker Rebekah Forney (Walkersville, Md./Mount De Sales) contributed a goal and an assist. Sophomore midfielder Katie Paredes (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) netted a goal, and junior attacker Sam Lassahn (Baltimore, Md./Concordia Prep) added an assist.
Hayden Corcoran added two goals and three assists for the Marauders.
Millersville had a 12-7 lead at halftime.
Bennett tied a season-high effort with her 17 saves for the Rams. Morgan Scott (10) and Lara Kruck (1) combined for 11 saves for the Marauders.
Millersville had a 40-33 advantage in shots with a 35-23 edge in shots on goal. Shepherd was 15-of-18 in clears and Millersville was 15-of-20. The Marauders had a 21-19 advantage in ground balls and a 21-12 edge in draw controls.
