SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University Vice President for Athletics Chauncey Winbush announced today the 2023 Shepherd football schedule and the various associated events.
The Rams open the 2023 campaign at home against Southern Connecticut State for a noon game on Sept. 2. The 2003 WVIAC Champion women's tennis team, the 1979 WVIAC Champion men's tennis team, and the 1964 WVIAC Champion men's swimming team will be honored.
Shepherd will host Kutztown for Family Day on Sept. 23. The 1984, 2004, and 2009 WVIAC champion baseball teams and the 2014 MEC Champion baseball team will be recognized.
The Rams will host rival Shippensburg on Sept. 30 for Hall of Fame Weekend.
Shepherd will host West Chester on Oct. 21 for Homecoming. The 1983, 1988, 1998, and 2013 WVIAC champion football teams will be honored.
Shepherd will have its National Football Foundation (NFF) Salute for 2023 College Football Hall of Fame Inductee Monte Cater on Nov. 4 when the Rams host East Stroudsburg.
The Rams will host Mercyhurst on Nov. 11 for Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day.
Road games include Edinboro (Sept.9), California (Pa.) (Sept. 16), Lock Haven (Oct. 7), Millersville (Oct. 14), and Bloomsburg (Oct. 28).
Information on football tickets and parking will be released in July.
