Shepherd Men’s Soccer Downed by Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Shepherd University (3-5-2, 1-4-0 PSAC East) dropped a 4-0 decision to Millersville (5-5-0, 3-3-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East men's soccer action at Millersville on Wednesday.

The Marauders took a 1-0 lead into the break on an unassisted goal by Roy Parkyn at the 10:19 mark.

Millersville added three second-half tallies.

Matias Schmidt scored on an assist from Tylen Thomas (49:47), Mikil Patil scored on a feed from Schmidt (53:44), and Michael Dempsey scored on a penalty kick (84:54).

Freshman goalkeeper Aidan Houck (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) recorded a career-high nine saves for the Rams. Jake Van Vorhees recorded three saves for the Marauders.

Millersville had a 19-9 advantage in shots with a 13-3 edge in shots on goal. The Marauders had a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Slippery Rock for a 3 p.m. contest.
