WILMINGTON, Del. – Junior midfielder Justin Langon (Upper Marlboro, Md./Bishop McNamara) and freshman midfielder Faustin Ndagije (Cheverly, Md./Parkdale) each scored a pair of goals to lead Shepherd University (5-9-3) to a 4-1 win over Goldey-Beacom (6-11-0) in men's soccer action at Goldey-Beacom on Monday afternoon.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead into the break as Langon scored on an assist from freshman defender Aaron Sullivan (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) at the 33:39 mark.
Langon added his second tally at the 50:21 mark on a feed from junior midfielder Asong Nkemanjong (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson/Howard) to up the lead to 2-0.
The Lightning got a goal from Tiwalade Ogunfadebo on a assist from Ogun Unal at the 64:06 mark.
Ndagije scored on a pass from sophomore midfielder Dylan Shepherd (Fallston, Md./Fallston) at the 84:14 mark to increase the lead to 3-1.
Ndagije scored an unassisted goal minutes later to complete the scoring.
Freshman goalkeeper Aidan Houck (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) recorded six saves for the Rams. Pedro Montanes did not record a save for the Lightning.
Goldey–Beacom had a 13-9 edge in shots with a 7-4 advantage in shots on goal. The Lightning had a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Shippensburg for a 6 p.m. contest
