MANSFIELD, Pa. –Kristen Fulford scored a game-high 21 points to lead Mansfield (10-12, 5-10 PSAC) to an 85-54 win over Shepherd University (6-16, 4-13 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Mansfield on Saturday.
Junior guard Jordan Carr (Charles Town, W.Va./Jefferson) led the Rams with 13 points. She hit on 5-of-10 field goals with a 3-of-6 effort from the foul line. Her 13 points tie a career-high effort.
Junior guard/forward Sydney Bolles (Elkview, W.Va./Charleston Catholic) and sophomore guard Annie Hunt (Ravenswood, W.Va./Ravenswood) each added 10 points. Hunt's 10 points established a career-high effort
Junior guard Deaira Hairston (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) added eight points and five boards. Graduate student forward Cara Minor (Hundred, W.Va./North Marion) grabbed a team-high six rebounds, while freshman guard Kara Wehner (Staten Island, NY/Xaverian) recorded a team-high four assists.
Minyhah Easterling had 14 points, while Jasmine Hilton added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers.
Mansfield had a 38-15 lead at halftime behind 10 first-half points from Fulford.
Shepherd shot 37.5 percent (21-56) from the floor with a 25 percent (4-16) performance from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 53.3 percent (8-15) of their free throws.
Mansfield shot 39.2 percent (29-74) from the floor with a 20 percent (4-20) effort from three-point range. The Mountaineers shot 74.2 percent (23-31) from the foul line.
Mansfield had a 53-33 advantage on the boards. The Rams forced 13 turnovers and committed 23.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Millersville for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
