KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Shepherd University tennis teams dropped a pair of matches to Kutztown for PSAC East tennis action at Kutztown on Sunday. The men (2-8, 0-1 PSAC East) dropped a 6-1 decision to Kutztown (3-4, 1-0 PSAC East), while the women (3-5, 0-1 PSAC East) suffered a 4-3 setback to Kutztown (4-3, 1-0 PSAC East)
The women's team got singles wins from senior Marketa Beladova (Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic/Iowa Central Community College), sophomore Ximena Bolanos Tellez (Mineral de la Reforma, Mexico/Colegio Makarenko), and sophomore Allison Cronk Manhattan Beach, California/Mira Costa/Westcliff).
Senior Nicholas Espinoza (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio Aleman Humboldt/Iowa Central Community College) recorded a 6-2, 7-6 (11-9) singles win for the men.
The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. match.
