SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Junior forward Carson Poffenberger (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) of the men's basketball team and graduate student forward Cara Minor (Hundred, W.Va./North Marion) and sophomore guard Peyton Grant (Plymouth, Maine/Dexter Regional) of the women's basketball team have been named to the 2023-24 CSC Academic All-District® Teams.
Poffenberger boasts a 4.00 grade point average as a health promotion and exercise science major. He averaged 12.2 points and 4.6 rebounds. His .522 field goal percentage led the team while his 35 three-pointers were third on the squad. He had a pair of double-doubles to tie Jarod Robinson for the most on the team.
Minor boasts a 3.56 grade point average as a secondary education major. She averaged 6.2 points and 5.1 rebounds. Her 21 three-pointers and .887 (47-53) free throw percentage were second on the team. She topped the team with 19 blocked shots
Grant boasts a 3.9 grade point average as a nursing major. She averaged 9.2 points and 2.5 rebounds. She topped the team in three-pointers (62) and three-point field goal percentage (.392, 62-158). Her .950 free throw percentage also topped the team.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
