WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Shepherd University men's golf team shot a 305 to rank sixth in a seven-team field and three members of the Shepherd University women's golf team competed in first-round action of the Dr. Edwin Cottrell Invitational at the Penn Oaks Golf Club on Monday.

Sophomore Joey Leisinger (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown fired a 1-over-par 71 to tie for fifth place to pace the men. He was followed by sophomore Trey Rios (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) (76, T-21st), sophomore Nop Satjavitvisarn (Yannawa Bangkok, Thailand/International Community School) (78, T-25th), sophomore Morgan Dehoff (Rohrersville, Md./Boonsboro) (80, T-31st), graduate student Chris Neighbors  (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) (85, 37th).

Sophomore Sara Veara (Berkeley Springs, W.Va./Berkeley Springs) shot an 80 to tie for fourth place to lead the women. She was followed by senior Olivia Rosick (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove) (88, 13th place), and sophomore Ryley Bolyard (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville/Meredith College) (100, 28th).  

The Rams return to action on Tuesday for final-round tourney action.
