Lydia Gable (Felton, Pa./Kennard Dale)
scored a career-high four goals to lead #25 Shepherd University (4-0-2, 4-0-0 PSAC East) to a 5-0 win over Mansfield (0-3-3, 0-3-1 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday.
Gable opened the scoring for the Rams when she scored on a pass from junior midfielder
Adrianna Morales (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) at the 8:47 mark.
Sophomore midfielder
Reagan Ackermann (Myersville, Md./Middletown/UNC Wilmington) scored on a feed from senior midfielder
Delaney Bittner (York, Pa./Red Lion Area Senior) at the 42:50 mark to give the Rams a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Gable tallied three second half goals for the Rams.
She scored on an assist from graduate student forward/midfielder
Chloe Stevens (Englewood, Colo./ThunderRidge/Fairleigh Dickinson) at the 84:51 mark. She later added a goal on a pass from Bittner at the 87:38 mark, and lastly scored off a feed from sophomore midfielder
Annabelle Wunderlich (Red Lion, Pa./Dallastown Area) at the 88:19 mark.
Shepherd had a 23-2 advantage in shots with a 16-1 edge in shots on goal. The Rams had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Hannah Wilt (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) recorded a save in a shutout effort for the Rams. Alyssa Shuman posted 11 saves for Mansfield.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to #13 Kutztown for a noon contest.
Delaney Bittner had a pair of assists on the day.
Annabelle Wunderlich assisted on the game's final goal.
