Shepherd Women’s Basketball Falls to Bloomsburg in Overtime

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. –  Katelin Starr scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Bloomsburg (12-6, 6-5 PSAC) to a 58-56 win in overtime over Shepherd (4-14, 1-11 PSAC) in PSAC women's basketball action at Bloomsburg on Wednesday.
 
Freshman forward Lamaria Estridge (Walkersville, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal) scored 12 points to lead the Rams. She connected on 6-of-10 field goals. Estridge added four rebounds.

Sophomore guard Cassidy Rhodes (Point of Rocks, Md./Brunswick) tossed in nine points, while sophomore forward Jenna Liska (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty/Frostburg State) had eight points and six rebounds. Freshman guard Trinity Turner (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) contributed a team-high seven rebounds.

Alison Hatajik added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Huskies.  

The game featured eight ties and eight lead changes. Leah Kale hit a pair of free throws for Bloomsburg with 25 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. The Huskies outscored the Rams, 8-6, in the extra session to gain the win.
    
Shepherd had a 36.1 percent (22-61) field goal percentage with a 20 percent effort (3-15) effort from beyond the arc for the game. The Rams hit 39.1 percent (9-23) from the foul line.

Bloomsburg connected on 34.5 percent (19-55) of its field goals with 27.3 percent effort (6-22) from three-point range. The Huskies hit 70 percent (14-20) of their free throws.

Both teams grabbed 40 rebounds. Shepherd forced 22 turnovers and committed 20.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Kutztown for a 1 p.m. game.
