SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – #17 Shepherd University (3-0-4, 2-0-4 PSAC East) battled to a 1-1 tie with Millersville (4-3-2, 4-2-2 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon.
Millersville took a 1-0 lead into the break when Isabel McCoy scored on a misplayed ball by the Rams at the 11:39 mark.
Sophomore midfielder
Anaya Lozano (Chesapeake, Va./Atlantic Shores Christian School) scored an unassisted goal at the 68:19 mark to tie the game.
The Marauders had a chance for the game-winner on a free kick with 45 seconds left, but the kick sailed high.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper
Hannah Wilt (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) did not record a save for the Rams. Sabrina Zimmerman had eight saves for the Marauders.
Shepherd had a 19-4 shots advantage and a 9-1 edge in shots on goal. The Rams had a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to West Chester for a noon contest.
