SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University Director of Athletics
Carrie Bodkins announced today that head women's soccer coach
Sam Odell has resigned to take the head coaching job at USC Upstate.
Odell has compiled a 49-28-22 mark in six years as the head coach of the Shepherd women's soccer program. He led the Rams to a 30-4-10 mark over the past two seasons. The Rams won a pair of PSAC titles, made a pair of regional appearances, and were Atlantic Region champions in 2024.
"I would like to thank Sam for his commitment and his hard work," said Bodkins. "We have witnessed a complete turnaround – back-to-back PSAC Championships, an Atlantic Region title, and two consecutive NCAA regional appearances. We are grateful for all that he has contributed here at Shepherd. I have no doubt that he will continue to succeed and make a difference wherever he goes."
A national search will be conducted to find Odell's replacement.
