SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Frostburg State University and Shepherd University have announced the agreement to play each other over the next six football seasons.
Just over 60 miles and a state line separate Frostburg and Shepherd but over four decades have passed since they last played. With the announcement of a six-year agreement between the teams the hiatus is over.
The schedule agreement has the matchup being the season opener with games alternating home and away. The series will kick off on Saturday, August 30 with a night game at Bobcat Stadium.
"We are extremely excited to have signed a six-year agreement with Frostburg State University as a non-conference opponent. This allows both teams to have a day trip to reduce costs and it will bring a good gate for the home team since we are so close. The Frostburg State matchup brings an exciting and competitive rivalry to our schedule." –
Carrie Bodkins Shepherd Director of Athletics
