WASHINGTON Pa. –The Shepherd University men's and women's golf teams completed first round action at the Vulcan Fire Classic at the Lone Pines Country Club on Monday. The men are tied for fourth place in an 11-team field. The women are in eighth place in an eight-team field. 
 
Junior Trey Rios (Denver, Pa./Cocalico) fired a 76 to tie for third place to lead the men. He was followed by junior Joey Leisinger (Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown)  (T-17th, 81), junior Morgan Dehoff (Rohrersville, Md./Boonsboro) (T-22nd, 83),  freshman Campbell Koegler (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) (33rd, 85),  and junior  Nop Satjavitvisarn (Yannawa Bangkok, /Thailand International Community School)(T-42nd, 88). 

Junior Sara Veara (Berkeley Springs, W.Va./Berkeley Springs) shot an 88 to tie for fourth to lead the women.  She was followed by graduate student Olivia Rosick, (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove) (T-27th, 103),  freshman Kaylie Brown (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) (T-39th, 117), Ava Biafore (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown) (43rd, 175), and freshman Paige Stickley (Walkersville,/Md. Walkersville) (44th, 191).

The Rams return on Tuesday for final round tournament action.
