SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (3-6) recorded a 5-2 win over Bowie State (2-5) in women's tennis action on Saturday at Shepherd.

Junior Millie Shaw (Martinsburg, W.Va./Saint James School/Hollins) picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win in number three singles, while redshirt sophomore Hallie Meyer (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) added a 6-4, 6-4 win in number two singles. Sophomore Alexus Vaughan (Charles Town,W.Va./Washington) (number five) and redshirt junior Victoria Ames (Wardensville, W.Va./East Hardy) (number six) added singles wins by default.
 
Redshirt junior Allison Cronk (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa/Westcliff) and Shaw teamed up for a 6-4 victory at number one doubles, while Meyer and redshirt senior Lily Gross (Martinsburg, W.Va./Spring Mills) earned a 7-5 win at number two doubles. Vaughan and Ames won number three doubles via default.
 
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to Salem for a 3 p.m. match.
