LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Shepherd University head volleyball coach Alex Hoekstra and Shepherd head women's soccer coach Sam Odell were honored at the PSAC Board of Directors Meeting on Tuesday. Hoekstra and Odell were honored as the PSAC East Coach of the Year in their respective sports.
 
Hoekstra was named PSAC East Coach of the Year after leading the Rams to an unbeaten 14-0 conference record (24-6 overall), an improvement over 2023's 9-5 PSAC finish and 14-15 overall mark. The team led the East in many statistical categories, including points (16.65 per set), opponent hitting percentage (.136), team hitting percentage (.227), and blocks (2.60). Hoekstra earned PSAC East Coach of the Year honors for the second time in his career (2022).
 
Odellwas named PSAC East Coach of the Year as he led the Rams to a record-setting 18-2-4 record with a 13-1-2 conference mark as the PSAC East Champions. The Rams finished the season as the PSAC Champions, Atlantic Region Champions, and advanced to the national quarterfinals.
