Eight Rams Gain CSC Academic All-District Football Honors

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Eight members of the Shepherd University football team were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams on Tuesday. The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes on the field and in the classroom. Redshirt senior offensive lineman Brandon Carr (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin), redshirt junior Vince Flook (Middletown, Md./Middletown), graduate student quarterback Michael Hardyway (Winchester, Cal./Oceanside/Bucknell), junior tight end Brian Jester (Frederick, Md./St.Frances Academy), graduate student offensive lineman Ty Lucas (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg), senior fullback Mason Miller (Wardensville, W.Va./East Hardy), junior wide receiver Carrington Nickens-Yzer (Clifton, Va./Centreville), and graduate student running back Grant Swinehart (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby/VMI) were honored.

Carr boasts a 3.54 grade point average as a recreation and sport studies major. Carr started in all 11 games for the Rams. He anchored an offensive line that paved the way for Jordan Barnett to rush for 1,209 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also helped Shepherd average 168.73 rushing yards and 30.5 points per game.

Flook boasts a 3.55 grade point average as a business administration major. He appeared in all 11 games. Flook recorded nine tackles (six solos) with 1.5 tackles-for-loss (-13 yards) and a half sack for minus three yards. He added two blocked kicks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Hardyway boasts a 4.0 grade point average as an MBA major with a 3.62 undergraduate grade point average. He started in all 11 games for the Rams. Hardyway completed 195-of-308 passes for 2,308 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also rushed for a score.

Jester boasts a 3.75 grade point average as a sports marketing major. Jester appeared in 10 games for the Rams. He had one reception for five yards.

Lucas boasts a 3.75 grade point average as an MBA major with a 3.71 undergraduate grade point average. Carr started in all 11 games for the Rams. He anchored an offensive line that paved the way for Jordan Barnett to rush for 1,209 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also helped Shepherd average 168.73 rushing yards and 30.5 points per game.

Miller boasts a 3.97 grade point average as a biology major. Miller appeared in all 11 games for the Rams. He had a pair of receptions for nine yards.

Nickens-Yzer boasts a 3.85 grade point average as a sports marketing major. Nickern-Yzer appeared in 10 games. He had seven receptions for 108 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown grab. He also had 25 kick returns for 570 yards for a 22.8 average.

Swinehart boasts a 4.0 grade point average as an MBA major with a 3.69 undergraduate grade point average. He appeared in all 11 games for the Rams. Swinehart had 134 carries for 588 yards and five touchdowns. He added 18 receptions for 119 yards.
