Shepherd Women Down Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. –  Sophomore forward Lamaria Estridge (Walkersville, Md./St. Andrew's Episcopal) scored a game-high 14 points to lead Shepherd (11-14, 9-11) to a 73-56 victory over Shippensburg (3-24, 2-18) in PSAC East women's basketball action at Shippensburg on Wednesday. 

Estridge connected on 5-of-8 shots from the floor with a 4-of-8 effort from the foul line. Estridge added six rebounds. 

Junior guard Kara Wehner (Staten Island, N.Y./Xaverian) added 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Freshman forward Vilte Kacerauskaite (Waldorf, Md./Saint Mary's) had 12 points, six boards, two blocks, and a steal. Freshman forward Summer Shackelford (Amissville, Va./Highland School) contributed 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a pair of blocks. 

Melana Eyer had 12 points for the Raiders. Kiara Hardy had 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Makayla Foddrell contributed nine points and eight rebounds. 

Shepherd connected on 51.9 percent (28-54) of its field goals with a 52.6 percent effort (10-19) from three-point range. The Rams hit 41.2 percent (7-17) of their free throws.

Shippensburg had a 36.8 percent (21-57) field goal percentage with a 30.8 percent effort (4-13) from beyond the arc for the game. The Raiders hit 76.9 percent (10-13) from the foul line. 

Shippensburg had a 38-32 advantage on the boards. The Rams forced 22 turnovers and committed 17.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Bloomsburg for Senior Day at 1 p.m.
