Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (5-8, 0-1 PSAC East) dropped a 14-4 decision to Bloomsburg (10-3, 1-0 PSAC East) in game one in softball doubleheader action at Sara Cree Field on Friday. The nightcap was suspended with Bloomsburg holding a 4-1 advantage in the top of the seventh inning.
Bloomsburg took a 3-0 lead in the third inning in game one with a two-run double from Sydney Thompson keying the rally.
Shepherd tied the game in the fourth on a three-run blast off the bat of freshman infielder

After the Huskies plated three runs in the fourth to take a 6-3 advantage, a two-run single by Allie Wenrich in the fifth gave Bloomsburg an 8-3 lead.
Junior first baseman
Brenna Collis (Hedgesville, W.Va./Hedgesville) belted a solo blast in the sixth for the Rams to cut the lead to 8-4.
The Huskies added six runs on six hits in the seventh to cap the win.
Yamrick went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, and Wenrich went 2-for-3 and drove in five runs to pace the Huskies.
Shepherd took a 1-0 lead in the first in the nightcap as junior infielder
Cate Russian (Manassas, Va./Colgan) led off with a single and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Putnam.
Bloomsburg got back-to-back solo homers from Wenrich and Josie Straigis in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead.
The Huskies added single runs in the fifth and sixth.
Yamrich and Straigis each had a pair of hits for Bloomsburg
Russian went 2-for-3 to pace the Rams.
The game was suspended due to rain in the top of the seventh.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host East Stroudsburg for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
