BELLE VERNON, Pa. – The Shepherd University women's golf team completed first-round action at the Vulcan Fire Classic at Cedarbrook Golf Course on Monday. The Rams are in ninth place in a 12-team field. 

Senior Sara Veara (Berkeley Springs, W.Va./Berkeley Springs) fired a 149 and is in 10th place to lead the women. She is followed by freshman Natalee Johnson (Front Royal, Va./Skyline) (108, 42nd), freshman Addison Buckland (New Market, Md./Urbana) (109, 45th), sophomore Kaylie Brown (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) (110, 47th), and sophomore Allison Wallace (Kearneysville, W.Va./Homeschooled) (123, 56th).  

The Rams return to action on Tuesday for final-round action.
