SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University Director of Athletics Carrie Bodkins  has announced that Michael McCook has been named Coordinator for External Relations.

McCook comes to Shepherd after serving as a Player Tracking Systems Tracking Specialist for Zebra Technologies/NFL Next Gen Stats, while also teaching Cross-Media Marketing and Marketing Principles at Martinsburg High School since 2024.

He had a stint as a Business Development Associate for Financial Growth Partners and served as an assistant coach for the Shepherd football team in 2023.

McCook gained his bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing from Shepherd in 2021 and added an MBA from Shepherd in 2022.

McCook was a member of the Shepherd football team from 2017-22. He was a member of four NCAA II Playoff teams and a conference champion team. He also served as a team captain.
