INDIANAPOLIS – The Shepherd University softball team is ranked sixth in the latest 2026 NCAA Atlantic Region rankings released by the NCAA committee on Wednesday.
This is the final edition of the regional rankings before the announcement of the tournament field on Monday, May 11.
The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) has seven ranked teams. Shippensburg (1st), East Stroudsburg (2nd), Kutztown (3rd), Shepherd (6th), West Chester (7th), Lock Haven (8th), and Bloomsburg (10th) are all ranked.
Following the completion of the regular season and conference tournaments, eight teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the 2026 NCAA Division II Softball Championships.
The Atlantic Region Championships will feature three automatic qualifiers – the tournament champions from the PSAC, MEC and CIAA – and five at-large selections.
