SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University Director of Athletics Carrie Bodkins has announced that Abigail Carter has been named Coordinator for Facilities and External Events.

"The Department of Athletics is pleased to welcome Abigail Carter as the new Coordinator for Facilities and External Events," said Bodkins. "This position will support facility upkeep, game day operations, and the coordination of promotion and events, helping to ensure high-quality venues and a strong overall game day experience for student-athletes and fans."

"A proud Shepherd University graduate, she brings a strong passion for collegiate athletics, along with a high level of energy, work ethic, and commitment to excellence, which will be tremendous assets as we continue to elevate our operations and support of all athletic programs. We are excited to have Abigail join the Ram Family."

Carter comes to Shepherd after working for the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars since 2024. She started as a Marketing and Promotions Associate, became a Group Sales Representative, before she was promoted to Corporate Sales Account Executive in December 2025.

"I'm thrilled to be rejoining the Shepherd Ram family," said Carter.  "As an alumna of the Recreation and Leisure Studies program at Shepherd, I always knew I would seek opportunities to return and contribute to collegiate athletics at the university that taught me so much. After meeting with Athletic Director Carrie Bodkins and the Shepherd Athletics team, and learning more about their vision for the future, I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of and an opportunity where I could help turn those goals into reality. I am incredibly excited about what lies ahead for Shepherd Athletics and the Shepherd community. It is an honor to join such a well-respected and dedicated athletic department, and I look forward to helping build on its continued success. Go Rams!"
