SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Shepherd University head men's basketball coach
Justin Namolik announced today that three student-athletes will continue their basketball careers for the Rams this upcoming 2026-27 season.
Waylon Colistra (Morgantown, W.Va./Morgantown), a 6-6 forward, led his team to a 21-3 record and the West Virginia AAAA state semifinals. He was named first team All-State after averaging 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. "Waylon is a skilled forward that can play inside and out," stated Namolik. "I think he can become a contributor for us as he gets stronger and improves defensively."
Kris Doleman (Kearneysville, W.Va./Washington), a 5-11 guard, led his team to a 19-4 record and the West Virginia AAAA state semifinals. He was named second team All-State after averaging 13.3 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.3 rebounds. "Kris is a solid point guard that knows how to lead a team on the basketball court," said Namolik. "I think he can develop into a contributor for us as he learns our system and adjusts to the college level."
Kyren Oglesby (Winchester, Va./John Handley), a 6-4 guard, led his team to a 24-5 record and the Virginia Class 4 state championship, the first in school history. He was named second team All-State after averaging 10.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. "Kyren is a high-IQ basketball player who can shoot, pass, and dribble," stated Namolik. "I think he has all the tools to become a point forward for us, and I look forward to his development."
"All of our incoming freshmen come from winning high school programs," said Namolik. "In addition to being highly-skilled basketball players, all three of them possess the intangibles that are needed to be successful. I'm looking forward to them competing against our returners every day at practice and getting better."
"I'm excited for the 26-27 season. We return five of our top six scorers from last season. We also return
Cole Paar, who missed all of last season with a knee injury. Our returners know what it takes to be successful in this league and are ready for the challenge of competing in the ultra-competitive PSAC."
