WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shepherd University women's cross country team finished fourth in a nine-team field and the men had three competitors at the SU Twilight at the Kernstown Battlefield hosted by Shenandoah University on Friday evening. VMI won the women's meet and Roanoke grabbed the men's title.

Junior Zoe Boyd (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) led the Rams as she finished 21st with a time of 22:21.2 in the 5K event. She was followed by sophomore Luella Mansheim (Lewisburg, W.Va./Greenbrier East) (22:38.1, 24th), freshman Aubrey VanSickle (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) (22:39.0, 25th),  sophomore Ximena Bolaños Tellez (Mineral de la Reforma, Mexico/Colegio Makarenko) (22:48.0, 26th), and freshman Dalija Dulaney (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) (25:26.5, 53rd).

Junior Seander Emmerson (Hagerstown, Md./Barbara Ingram School for the Arts/Hagerstown Community College) finished 75th with a time of 24:39.0 in the 6K event to lead the men. He was followed by senior Connor Ireland (Charles Town, W.Va./Jefferson) (24:54.8, 80th) and junior Jackson Fiolek (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Washington) (27:43.5, 85th).

The Rams return to action on Sept. 26 when they travel to the Lock Haven Invite.
