SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shepherd University volleyball team (11-1, 2-0 PSAC East) handed host Shippensburg (8-5, 1-1 PSAC East) a 25-22, 26-24, 25-15 setback in PSAC East volleyball action on Saturday night.
Senior middle hitter/right side
Sophia Ryan (Monroe, N.Y./Monroe Woodbury) led the Rams with 11 kills. Senior outside hitter
Amya Davis (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) and sophomore outside hitter
Ada McCoy (Bunker Hill, W.Va./Musselman) each had 10.
Junior setter
Maggie Smith (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland/Loyola) contributed 32 assists, while freshman libero/defensive specialist
Alexa Smith (Hedgesville, W.Va./Hedgesville) had 21 digs. Sophomore outside hitter
Mikayla Riehl (Birdsboro, Pa./Twin Valley) recorded 11 digs.
Hailey Cappelman had 11 kills and four blocks for Shippensburg. Elise Bragg added six kills and seven digs
The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Lock Haven for a 7 p.m. match.
