Merritt Delk (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) scored a pair of goals to lead Shepherd University (8-1-0, 7-1-0 PSAC East) to a 2-0 win over Mansfield (2-8-0, 0-8-0 PSAC East) in PSAC East women's soccer action at Shepherd on Saturday afternoon.
Delk gave the Rams a 1-0 advantage at the break when she scored on a pass from redshirt sophomore defender
Morgen Smith (Clarksburg, Md./Poolesville/Radford) at the 20:26 mark.
Delk added a second-half score on an assist from junior midfielder
Olivia Gardner (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) at the 71:24 mark.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper
Alex Stuart (New Market, Md./Linganore/Eastern Kentucky) did not record a save in a shutout effort for the Rams. Angel Guie recorded 12 saves for the Mountaineers.
Shepherd had a 25-2 advantage in shots with a 14-1 edge in shots on goal. The Rams had a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to West Chester for a 2 p.m. matchup.
